Transcripts and Dean’s Letters, respectively, are sent directly to the program director, hospital staff office, credentialing agency, licensing board, educational institution, etc. An "official" transcript cannot be sent to the graduate unless it is in a sealed envelope and addressed to the final recipient. Due to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, we cannot respond to a transcript request without your legal signature.  Faxed signatures are permitted under law. The U.S. Department of Education has not yet ruled on the recently enacted electronic signature legislation. Until such time as we are advised how this impacts FERPA legislation, we are unable to honor transcript requests by e-mail, unless the request form has a live signature and has been scanned and emailed.
