HPREP Parents and Guardians Workshop
February 20, 2015
Uris Auditorium
3:30PM
The Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program (HPREP) was developed in 1989 by the Student National Medical Association at Weill Cornell Medical College to address the low enrollment rates of underrepresented populations in medicine. Throughout this ten-week program that starts in January, 10th and 11th grade students interact with minority physicians speaking on a wide range of medical issues. Students participate in small group workshops such as: Introduction to Anatomy; the College Application Process, International Medicine; Cultural Competency; and Overview of Financial Aid.
This year, a workshop was developed for parents and guardians. This session is designed to answer questions pertaining to the preparation for careers in medicine and science.
